Introduction
The residents of Buxar district are beginning to see a glimmer of hope as the rate of COVID-19 infections declines. In the last 24 hours, only 10 new cases have been reported in the district, while 49 individuals have successfully recovered from the virus. This positive trend has brought much-needed relief to both the administration and the people of the region.
Decline in Third Wave
The decreasing rate of the third wave of COVID-19 has been a welcome development for the district. On Tuesday, the district headquarters, which previously reported more than 50 new cases daily, did not record any new infections. Similarly, 8 out of the 11 blocks in Buxar district also reported zero new cases.
COVID-19 Testing and Positive Cases
As part of the ongoing efforts to monitor the situation, the district administration collected a total of 2390 samples for COVID-19 testing from 11 blocks and railway stations in the district. Out of these samples, only 10 individuals tested positive for the virus. Notably, the railway station had the highest number of positive cases, with 5 individuals testing positive. Additionally, two new cases were reported from Brahmapur block, one from Simri block, and two from Nawanagar block.
Overall Statistics
Between December 1, 2021, and February 1, 2022, a total of 1,94,353 samples were collected for COVID-19 testing in the district. Out of these, 934 samples returned positive results. Currently, there are 103 active cases in the district, and they are receiving treatment in home isolation under the supervision of the health department.
Precautions Remain Necessary
While the pace of coronavirus transmission has slowed down in the district, it is crucial for the community to continue taking necessary precautions. Young adults between the ages of 20 and 40 years have been most affected by the virus. To prevent any resurgence in the number of new infections, vigilance and adherence to preventive measures are of utmost importance.
